About Me | Beginner Golf for Women | Creating a Supportive Golf Community

About Me

Hello! I’m Pip, and my journey into golf wasn’t a smooth, confident path from the start—quite the opposite!

When I first moved to Sheffield, I found myself looking to expand my social circle and push myself out of my comfort zone. Socialising had always been a challenge for me, and I wasn’t exactly the most confident person. But this time, I decided to embrace the discomfort and try something new.

Golf had always intrigued me. I loved the idea of being outdoors, learning a new skill, and maybe even making a few friends. Yet as a complete beginner, I wasn’t sure if it would be a welcoming environment. I worried about not fitting in, feeling intimidated by the rules, or maybe even messing up on the course in front of others. But one day, I decided, “Why not?” So, I joined a local golf club, bought my first set of clubs, and took first swing with a group of other female beginners And you know what? I was hooked. That first session changed everything for me.

This experience opened my eyes to the very real challenges beginners face—especially women who may not have had the chance to get involved in golf before. I realised that golf doesn’t have to be intimidating. It can be fun, welcoming, and a wonderful way to connect with others while learning something new.

Why This Matters

I know firsthand how it feels to be new to golf—unsure where to start, what to wear, or even how to book a lesson. It can be confusing and a bit scary, especially if you don’t know anyone else playing. Through my own experiences, I’ve come to understand how much of a difference a supportive, friendly environment can make. That’s why I’m committed to creating a space for women just like me—whether you’re 18 or 48, confident or shy, experienced or a complete beginner. You belong here.

Breaking Down Barriers

My mission is to break down the barriers of intimidation and confusion that often surround golf. I want to build a community where women can learn at their own pace, without pressure or judgment. Whether you’ve always dreamed of playing or are simply curious, I want to help you feel comfortable enough to give it a go. Golf should be about fun, connection, and the joy of learning—not about perfection or who hits the ball the furthest. Everyone starts somewhere, and there’s room for all of us here.

A Space to Belong

This mission is deeply personal to me. I want to create a space where women can connect, learn together, and support one another throughout their journey into golf. A place where you don’t have to worry about the “rules,” the “right clubs,” or who’s watching. Just show up as you are. We’ll learn, laugh, and grow together—step by step, swing by swing. Whether you’re brand new to the sport or just looking to find your confidence again, I’m here to walk alongside you. Let’s build a community where every woman feels welcome on the golf course.
